Film Screenings at the County Theater

05.01.2026

We're excited to screen two films this year at The County Theater as part of the 2026 Doylestown Pride Festival! Learn more about both films below!

Mommie Dearest

Frank Perry’s infamous 1981 biopic, based on the memoir by Christina Crawford, sets out in earnest to examine the darker side of screen legend Joan Crawford’s family life. The film’s legacy has become something quite different. It is now a camp classic, beloved for its unintentional hilarity, groan-inducing dialogue, and a flamboyant, overcommitted performance by Faye Dunaway that simply must be seen to be believed. So pull your coat off that wire hanger, and come pay a visit to MOMMIE.

To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar

Three drag queens (Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo) travel cross country in a '67 Cadillac convertible in hopes of making the pageant finals in Hollywood. But when their car breaks down in a small Midwestern town, they’ll have to use all the glamour and charisma they have to show the locals the power of drag. Endlessly quotable, TOO WONG FOO is a heartwarming message of community and acceptance.

Opening ahead of TO WONG FOO is the Doylestown premiere of BEN IN BLOOM, a 12-minute short documentary by director Natalie Jasmine Harris. The film chronicles the life and advocacy of Stella Lopresti-Busick (she/her), a queer youth in Bucks County. Stella will be in attendance to discuss BEN IN BLOOM immediately after TO WONG FOO ends, in a discussion and Q&A led by Marlene Pray (she/her), director and founder of The Rainbow Room.
