Pronouns are not optional or preferred, identities are not “a choice”, and an informed community that cares is essential to changing and saving lives. We present, with two amazing community partners, Pride Saves Lives.
While many people use a pronoun associated with their sex assigned at birth, gendered pronouns, and the assumptions behind them, may represent a daily stressor for LGBTQ youth. Affirming LGBTQ youth’s gender by using pronouns that align with their gender identity has been shown to improve mental health outcomes and reduce rates of suicide.–Join us as we welcome The Rainbow Room Director, Marlene Pray, and Youth Participants to show us how to build a safe and affirming community by respecting pronouns and identities.
